This file contains the known descendants, to the 6th
generation, of Joshua Cawood, born about 1690, nailmaker of Otley, Yorkshire.
Notes for Joshua CAWOOD
[2] records "12 children". MP for Port Elizabeth [21]. Val de Kock tells me
that in the old Salem records the baptism is recorded of Sarah Cawood, b. 20
Jan 1831, d.o. Joshua and Mary of Caffre Drift.
CAWOOD, JOSHUA Trader, hunter. He was born in Yorkshire in 1804 and was with his brothers in Natal, 1832-33. See S. Cawood. Joshua Cawood was a member of the Cape House of Assembly from 1860 to 1863. (Hy1820, 265.)
