This file contains the known descendants, to the 6th
generation, of Joshua Cawood, born about 1690, nailmaker of Otley, Yorkshire.
Notes for Francis Alexander NORVALL
Sailed for South Africa in 1873, the year his mother died. Some account of his life and adventures there is given in "Reminiscences of my Family", by Isabel Barlow. Photograph on file, in front of Ken's house at Seaborough farm, with Warwick and
Nigel on his knees. There is doubt about his place and date of birth: the 1861 census gives a "Frank Norvall" as aged 4, and born in Kent. Warwick Norvall said that he died in 1947; 1946 is given by Maureen.
